Colleen Salahub-Olsen
Artistic Director ADISTD, LISTD
Colleen has been the artistic director of Ballet Camrose for 27 years and has been teaching dance for 36 years. She teaches Cecchetti Ballet, contemporary, modern, lyrical, Al Gilbert tap and jazz. With Ballet Camrose, Colleen has produced full-length annual ballets for 25 years such as Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.
Colleen trained at the Edmonton School of Ballet, as well as with Alberta Ballet dancing roles in the Nutcracker and multiple other performances, and the National Ballet Company, dancing throughout her entire childhood. In addition, she danced with Edmonton Festival Ballet in the corps de ballet.
Colleen has trained under and been inspired by multiple teachers such as Glen Gilmore, Margaret Flynn, David Adams, Murray & Nancy Kilgour, Jacque, Karen Kain, and Veronica Tennant.
Colleen has won multiple choreography awards at various competitions. She strives to create a studio where all dancers can be the very best that they can be and feel at home at Ballet Camrose.
Cassandra Olsen
Instructor: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern
Cassandra began dancing at the age of 3 at Ballet Camrose Dance Company but has spent almost all of her time at the studio since she was born. She is trained in Cecchetti ballet, jazz, Al Gilbert tap, many forms of hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, and modern, and has completed training in musical theater. Cassandra has achieved her international Advanced 1 Cecchetti ballet exam, passed all of the Ballet Camrose syllabus jazz exams, achieved her Al Gilbert Tap 9 exam, and been certified in the Edmonton School of Ballet junior grades syllabus as well. She has worked with teachers and choreographers in various workshops and classes such as Christine Richardson, Sheila Kennedy, Shay Kuebler, Joyce Shietze, Margaret Flynn, Murray & Nancy Kilgour, Tina Colvin, Margaret Dollwood and many others. She now teaches ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and contemporary at Ballet Camrose Dance Company with her mother and sister. Cassandra has both a Business Degree in Business Economics and a Degree in Education from the University of Alberta.
During her dance career, Cassandra has won multiple awards for solo and group performances, including best female dancer at Vermillion Dance Festival, best soloist at Coronation Music Festival, and Best Soloist Scholarship at the Camrose Music Festival, along with awards from many other festivals and competitions.
Cassandra attended a BeDiscovered Dance Intensive in Los Angeles, California in July 2018 where she took classes and worked with choreographers such as Liana Blackburn, Chantal Robson, Justine Mentor, Ajaye Skeen, Mirhan K, and The_Stixx. She took classes at the Edge Performing Arts Center, took part in a professional photo shoot, and appeared in a music dance video!

Cassandra later attended the BeDiscovered Broadway Bound Intensive on scholarship where she was able to perform a flashmob in front of the Winter Garden Theatre and danced in some of New York's most famous dance studios such as Broadway Dance Center and STEPS on Broadway.
Jocelyn Olsen
Instructor: Tap, Lyrical, Ballet
Jocelyn began dancing at the age of 3 at Ballet Camrose Dance Company and has spent her entire life there. She is trained in Cecchetti Ballet, Al Gilbert Tap, jazz, many forms of hip-hop, lyrical, modern and contemporary. Jocelyn has achieved her international Intermediate Cecchetti ballet exam, has taken the highest level of Ballet Camrose syllabus jazz exams, achieved her Tap 9 Al Gilbert tap exam, and has been certified in the Edmonton School of Ballet junior grades syllabus. Jocelyn has worked with multiple instructors and choreographers at various workshops such as Christine Richardson, Sheila Kennedy, Shay Kuebler, Joyce Shietze, Margaret Flynn, Murray & Nancy Kilgour, Tina Colvin, Margaret Dollwood and many others. She teaches tap and lyrical at the studio now with her mother and sister, while finishing her senior year in high school.
